Bunaíodh an tÁisaonad i 1998 le háiseanna oideachais (áiseanna
ilmheán chomh maith le háiseanna clóbhuailte) a sholáthar d’earnáil
na Gaelscolaíochta, ar comhchaighdeán agus ar comhphraghas lena
gcothrom i mBéarla. Chomh maith le foilsiú na n-áiseanna, tá an

The Irish Medium Resource Unit was established in 1998 to provide
educational resources (both multimedia and printed) for the Irish
Medium sector that were of a standard and cost equivalent to those
available in English. The IMRU publishes, stores and distributes
these resources. The IMRU is an integral element of provision
for Irish Medium Education and is funded by Foras na Gaeilge.
The Unit has a team of five (four full-time and one part-time),
but benefits also from outside expertise, such as translators
and teachers. As well as our published materials, the IMRU also
provides downloadable resources via our website, and provides
support and training to the schools using those resources.
