St Mary's lost their Sigerson Cup opening round match at UCG
in highly controversial circumstances in Galway. The students
performed magnificently in their most difficult away fixture against
the tournament hosts but lost out by one point. Full-time was
blown by the referee just at the point where a score from St Mary's
would have forced the game into extra time. The players and mentors
returned from Galway with a great sense of injustice.
