1. Skill Up is a flexible skills programme, funded by the Department for the Economy, which provides free accredited courses to help students retrain and reskill.
2. The PG Cert Enabling Educational Skills Development comprises two modules chosen from a menu of options for the development of leadership skills in education.
3. Through Skill Up, St Mary’s University College has sought to address the need among qualified teachers in Northern Ireland for career development in a range of leadership areas where Teacher Professional Learning (TPL) has been limited in recent years.
4. Students will study part-time over a period of nine months and take one module in each semester. Semester 1 starts September 2024, whilst semester 2 starts in January 2025.
5. To be eligible for a fully funded place you must be:
• domiciled in Northern Ireland;
• eligible to work in Northern Ireland;
• settled in Northern Ireland, and ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years or have indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK; and
• over 18 years of age.
