Study USA
St Mary’s BEd student Eimear Mulligan took part in the British Council Study USA programme, which enabled her to spend a full academic year studying and living in the States. Eimear was placed in North Carolina Wesleyan University and fully embraced US College Life, but also took the opportunity to travel, visiting New Orleans and Chicago. The universities at which the Study USA students are placed tend to be small Liberal Arts colleges, which match St Mary’s in terms of size, values and study options.

Embarking on a Musical Odyssey in Nashville, Tennessee
In 2023 three of our BEd Music undergraduates were selected for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their talents at the Music City Irish Fest in Nashville, the home of Country Music. The pinnacle of their performance unfolded at the iconic Grand Ole Opry Plaza, marking a milestone in their musical journey.
Beyond the stage, the students explored the musical wonders of the city, visiting the acclaimed Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University and the College of Music and Performing Arts at Belmont University. This venture in international student mobility not only showcased their musical prowess but also provided them an invaluable glimpse into the heart of Nashville’s vibrant music scene.
