Caitríona, a graduate of the BEd Irish-medium pathway at  St Mary’s has joined TG4’s weather and continuity team. She was raised bilingually by her parents in the rural community of Creggan, County Antrim. Caitríona has a love for Gaelic games and holds county and provincial medals in both camogie and football with her GAA Club Kickhams Creggan. 

Like so many of our teacher education graduates these days she spent two years teaching  in the Gulf States. She returned home to take up a post in Gaelscoil an tSeanchaí, County Derry.

In 2022 Caitríona joined the Communications Department at TG4.

Talking about her new appointment she explained:

“I would have grown up watching TG4 at home all the time, so this is a full circle moment to go from watching the shows and the likes of Cáitlín, Mairéad and Fiona on the weather, never dreaming I’d present them on screen.”
