Erasmus Ireland Intensive Programme – Kraków 2024

A small group of St Mary’s students availed of the opportunity for a study visit to the historic liberal arts university in Kraków, the Jagiellonian, on the Erasmus Ireland Intensive Programme 2024. The fourteenth century campus acted as a base for site visits to various locations in the region, including the picturesque Krosno and its PANS campus, Łańcut Castle and Auschwitz camp. While in Kraków, the students were invited to a private viewing of the Jagiellonian Library’s Ludwig van Beethoven manuscript collection which contains some of the rarest scores by the composer.  The students are pictured with the Dean of Humanities, Professor Wladek Witalisz and Head of the Newman Library at the College, Elaine Mulholland, who was in Kraków representing the College on the inter-library Varnhagen archives project.
