Féile 2026 Launch

On Wednesday 24 June, St Mary’s hosted the 2026 launch of Féile an Phobail.

A number of events will run in association with St Mary’s University College as we celebrate 125 years in the Community and a proud supporter of Féile.

  • The annual Dr Eamon Phoenix Memorial History lecture by Dr Cormac Moore. Organised by the Eamon Phoenix Foundation.
  • Kindred Spirits: Parallel Paths of Language Loss and Revitalization lecture by Dr John Hopkins from Saint Martin’s University in Washington State.
  • South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission: the legacy and lessons learned 30 years on. A panel of experts will reflect on the legacy of the TRC and what lessons have been learned for peace-building.
  • The Passing of the Flame exhibition celebrating seven decades of Gaelic football at St Joseph’s and St Mary’s, and the legacy of Mr Jim McKeveer.
  • ‘From Wounded Knee to Gaza’ art exhibition of paintings by J.B. Vallely showing a powerful and deeply reflective body of work, drawing connections between historical and contemporary human suffering.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to our College campus for the debates and discussions as well as the very impressive visual arts exhibition.
