Scríobh Leabhar 2024
This month, local children had a chance to celebrate their writing skills here at St Mary’s. A writing competition, organised by An tÁisaonad and Scríobh Leabhar, involved over 1,100 pupils from schools all over the north. The winners of the competition were hosted in St Mary’s and treated to an engaging talk by one of the country’s foremost writers for young people, Myra Zepf.
Scríobh Leabhar, meaning ‘Write a Book’, encourages children to draw on their creative talents to literally write a book in Irish. Who knows, maybe we’ll see some of their names on our bookshelves in the future.
The competition was sponsored by Foras na Gaeilge.
Bhí deis ag páistí áitiúla a scileanna scríbhneoireachta a cheiliúradh ag Coláiste Mhuire an tseachtain seo. Bhí tuilleadh agus 1,100 páiste ó scoileanna ar fud an tuaiscirt páirteach sa chomórtas a d’eagraigh An tAisaonad agus Scríobh Leabhar.
Ba é Foras na Gaeilge a d’urraigh an comórtas.
