Sudanese Doctors’ Workshop at St Mary’s
Sudanese medical professionals from across the island of Ireland gathered in St Mary’s on Saturday 20 April for a training workshop on maternal health. Hospital consultants and doctors from Dublin, Cavan, Monaghan, Newry and Belfast shared experiences and expertise in the first forum of its kind to be held in Ireland. Presenting were Dr Riham Desougi, Dr A. Mageed, Dr Reem Magxoub and Dr Sami Farrag, all obstetricians and gynaecological consultants/specialists. The event was chaired by Dr Manal Hassan and the College representative Professor Gerard McCann. The event was organised jointly by the Sudanese Youth and Women’s Organisation, Horn of Africa People’s Aid NI and the Development Studies Association Ireland.
