Our Year 2 World Around Us students took part in a highly interactive and enjoyable Trocaire workshop facilitated by Development Education Officer Laura Rio Fernandez.

There was a strong focus on Education for Sustainable Development, with the Trading Game clearly illustrating global interdependence, human rights and social justice issues.

Students were reminded of their powerful role as WAU teachers and their ability to make a huge difference to the lives of their pupils, their communities, and the wider world by addressing inequality using active methodologies in their classrooms.

The students and WAU Team left the session energised, inspired, and empowered, and look forward to Laura returning to the college in the future.
