The Saphara Newcomer Welcome Event returned to St Mary’s University College, Belfast from 23–25 March, bringing together primary school children from disadvantaged communities with student teachers to celebrate culture, creativity and belonging in today’s diverse classrooms.

St Mary’s University College is currently celebrating its 125th anniversary through a series of events which tell the story of the events and people who have shaped the institution. There was a special alumni and family’s event at St Mary’s on 26 March which occasioned the telling of stories of ‘our people’ over a period of ten decades.

Staff at St Mary’s University College have begun a six‑week Sign Language Training programme, reinforcing the College’s commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and lifelong learning.
