Students & Academics from Windesheim Visit St Marys
Since 1994 St Mary’s has been hosting students and academics from the University of Applied Sciences Windesheim (Zwolle, The Netherlands). Now a regular feature of the College’s calendar, the ‘Education and Diversity’ study trip in May of this year included a large delegation from the Faculty of Education. While in Belfast, the group had the opportunity to visit Holy Cross and Currie primary schools, Belfast City Hall, participate in walking tours of Peace Walls and political murals, and heard talks on education and reconciliation in post-Troubles Northern Ireland. The ‘buitenschools’ aspect of the trip saw the students climbing Cave Hill, visiting North Antrim and the Giant’s Causeway, and strolling the Lagan Towpath.
