New Book on Global Education
Adding to an already impressive collection of texts, Principal Lecturer and College International Coordinator, Professor Gerard McCann, has published the first book to look at the evolution and scope of global education on the island of Ireland.
The open access book, Global Education in Ireland (edited with Eilish Dillon, Niamh Gaynor and Stephen McCloskey), brings together leading practitioners and academics to provide a history of global education.
Ireland is regarded as a leader in the field worldwide, with a rich history going back to the 1970s. Despite this, there has been a lack of research on its role and contribution internationally. This book bridges this gap, critically exploring the history of global education – policy and practice – in the Irish context from across the education spectrum in Ireland and internationally.
The publisher’s launch will take place on 5 November 2024 in Maynooth University. The book is available to download free of charge at the following link – https://www.bloomsburycollections.com/monograph?docid=b-9781350380417.
Professor McCann is currently working on a text on Europe’s role in international development.
