Freshers’ Fair 2025
Freshers’ Fair 2025
Freshers’ Fair 2025 energises campus with superb turnout and vibrant opportunities for all students.
On Wednesday 1 October, St Mary’s Students’ Union hosted its annual Freshers’ Fair, and this year’s event, led by the newly elected SU Executive, was an outstanding success, with superb attendance and an incredible atmosphere across campus.
With over 40 stalls on display, the Fair gave students the chance to connect with a wide variety of opportunities: from clubs and societies, GAA and sports teams, and student unions, to local charities, community groups, and political parties. The event highlighted the richness of student life at St Mary’s and encouraged students to explore new avenues for participation, leadership and community outreach.
Most notable was the remarkable level of student engagement with the BDS Palestine Solidarity group, it being their first year at St Mary’s Freshers’ Fair. The stall was overwhelmed by the strong response and enthusiasm from students eager to show support, develop closer links with the group and engage in more active campaigning on campus. This reflects the growing passion among our student body for global justice and solidarity movements, and the Students’ Union looks forward to facilitating further opportunities for student activism in this area.
From freebies and vouchers to meaningful conversations and new sign-ups, Freshers’ Fair 2025 was about much more than just browsing stalls – it was about building connections, discovering causes and shaping the student experience for the year ahead.
The Students’ Union would like to thank all contributors and students for making the event such a resounding success. It marks an encouraging start to the academic year and sets the tone for a dynamic, engaged and socially conscious student community at St Mary’s.
