‘Ukrainian Week’ at Queen’s

The College was delighted to be invited to participate in the opening of Ukrainian Week at the Great Hall at Queen’s. Organised through the Directorate of Governance and External Affairs and the Honorary Consul for Ukraine in Northern Ireland, Alan Moore, the event concluded with the signing of a new partnership agreement between Queen’s and the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies. Representing the College, Professor Gerard McCann spoke to the dignitaries about the College’s work as a member of the Education Development in Ukraine (EDUWAP) Consortium and the challenges facing the Ukrainian education system because of the war. Also on the panel were Alim Aliev, Deputy Director General of the Ukrainian Institute in Lviv, Dr Martin-Oleksandr Kyslyi from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and renowned Ukrainian-Crimean Tatar visual artist Emine Ziyatdin.
