Kenyan Ambassadorial Visit

In a historic first for the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, the Kenyan High Commissioner to the UK, Amb Maurice Makoloo, and the Kenyan Ambassador to Ireland, Amb George Orina, met in St Mary’s University College to discuss consular issues related to Kenyan citizens residing in these justifications. Joined by their respective diplomatic consuls, they discussed issues related to visas, people in transit, the border and citizen’s rights. Received by Prof Gerard McCann on behalf of the College, there was also an opportunity to explore university links and research possibilities. To conclude their visit, the whole delegation, together with Kenyan community representatives, was addressed by Belfast’s Deputy Lord Mayor Paul Doherty.
