SU Mental Health Week
On Monday, to kick off our mental health week, we hosted a Tea and Chats coffee morning, where students enjoyed free tea, coffee, and hot pastries in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere in our Student Lounge area. The event encouraged students to take a break, connect with one another, and enjoy some downtime between classes. Generous voluntary donations from staff and students raised over £100 for PIPS, our chosen charity, supporting their vital mental health work. A big thank you to everyone who contributed and made this event a heartwarming success!
On Tuesday, we hosted an exciting petting zoo event in our lovely courtyard, offering students a chance to unwind and connect with adorable animals. From fluffy rabbits to friendly turtles, the petting zoo brought smiles and stress relief during a busy time in the academic term. For many, it was also an opportunity to step out of their comfort zones, interact with animals they previously had a fear of, and embrace new experiences. The event was a perfect blend of fun and relaxation, fostering community spirit and creating memorable moments for everyone involved. Many students commented on how the event provided them with a calming and therapeutic environment, helping them to alleviate stress and boost their mood.
